Students who are in need of a therapeutic day school placement are recommended to us by their school districts. Typically, a student will be referred after he or she has completed an evaluation process within the school district or our diagnostic program. In most cases, students have experienced limited success, even with the addition of supplementary aides and services, in a less restrictive setting. Therefore, a more intensive degree of services is necessary for the student’s success. Students who would benefit from a high degree of counseling, but are not in need of residential care, are usually appropriate for Metro Prep.
However, before the student can achieve academic and therapeutic success at Metro Prep, they must express the desire to attend school on a regular basis. In addition, it is strongly suggested that parents willingly become involved in our program. This includes the parents’ regular participation in annual reviews, meetings, open houses, parent groups, family counseling and other individually recommended activities.
Metro Prep admits students of any and all race, color, creed, religion, national or ethnic origin and provides all students the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to our students. No person shall be denied participation in or benefits of any program or activity by Metro Prep or otherwise be subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national or ethnic origin, sex or any other protected category, in the administration of its educational policies, employment policies, admissions policies, athletic and other school administered programs, any scholarship or loan programs.
Students, school district personnel, or parents wishing to request information about admission to Metro Prep may contact the school directly:
